Using Expressions

Expressions

Any expression using numbers, parameters, mathematical operators, and functions can be used wherever a number is required.

In this example a mesh of a wheel is constructed where the Model of a Wheel Using Brick, Shell and Beam Elements Input File has many expressions to parameterize the geometry. The radius of the tire is defined by the parameter rad2. The radius of the spokes, rad5, is defined by the expression [%rad1-%rad2]. So, when the value for rad2 is changed, the cross section of the tire, the rim, and the spokes automatically adjust.
