Numerical simulation of ballistic impact on composite laminates

This paper details the implementation of a 3D spectral-element method to simulate the complex process of multistage excavation in elastoplastic soils. The study validates its parallelized software, which uses a Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion and domain decomposition, by applying it to several excavation examples.
